As I had said, I spent several years in India after college and learned about life the hard way. I also had several remarkable teachers and every one of them spoke at length, about the coming challenges to our lives—about these times, when we would see an extraordinary imbalance of good and evil in the world; and when nature would turn against us.
They all saw the Earth as Gaia, as a living entity, who would eventually fight back in an effort to preserve its life. More importantly, they said that when we are at the apex of this crisis a certain amount or quality of collective consciousness would be needed to meet this crisis and transcend to the next level of human evolution.
In fact, many teachers in the past, from many nations, saw this crisis coming. My favorite was Gurdjieff, a gifted Sufi from Armenia who compared the process of human evolution to the harmonic music scale: Do Re Me Fa So La Ti Do.
He posited that the first half scale is fulfilled by the will of God; the second half scale must be filled by the will of man—or we lose the right to evolve—and even dissolve: Implode!

No doubt we have a lot of work to do. . .
